PURPOSE

AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” AWANA is a dynamic program geared to reaching all children with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Once a child is reached then AWANA takes on another roll. This program strives to train your little ones to be all that they can be for Jesus through Scripture memory and strong Biblical lessons on a weekly basis. AWANA is broken down into three different age groups to ensure that your little ones are being taught on a level they can grasp.  Those groups are broken down below. 

Schedule

AWANA is held every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. during the school year (September through May). During the summer months (June through August), we offer a summer program called Elevate on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

CUBBIES

Cubbies is designed for and child in preschool, (ages 3 year-olds or 2 years before entering Kindergarten). Your child must be potty-trained and must be turning three by August 1st in order to enter the Cubbies. With activities such as puppet shows, songs, games, crafts, and stories your clubber will be able to learn about God’s Word. They are encouraged to memorize Bible verses at their own pace through the AWANA season ultimately “hiding God’s Word in their hearts”. 

SPARKS

AWANA Sparks is for children who are Kindergarten through 2nd grade. They are involved in Bible memorization, game time, fun activities and story time. They are separated by grade and encouraged to memorize Scripture at their own pace finishing one book in each grade for the year. Fun theme nights are also included throughout the year for the clubbers to participate.

TRUTH AnD TRAINING

AWANA ‘s Truth and Training is set up up for any child in 3rd grade through 6th grade. Bible memorization is slightly more advanced for each age group allowing them to memorize Scripture at their own pace and level.  The goal is for each child to finish one book per year. A night of Truth and Training consists of a game time, council time and a book time. Fun theme nights are incorporated throughout the year along with events such as the AWANA Grand Prix for your child to take part in. Since these kids are a bit older we offer a few things above and beyond to help your child transition easier into the next level the Student Ministry.
