Varsity Girls Cheerleading Coach

Crystal Bunts is a 2003 graduate of Lee University and is currently earning her Masters degree in Education from Cedarville University. Crystal stepped in to fill the position of Varsity Girls Cheerleading coach during the 2010-2011 season and will continue as head coach this year. She teaches English and directs Yearbook class at MCA. Crystal attends Toledo Lighthouse Church with her husband, David, and children, Isaac and Aaron. She is involved in the music, children’s church, and college & career ministries.

Jr. High Boys Basketball Coach

Ben Cramer is a 2006 graduate of Toledo Christian High School. This is his first season as head coach of the Jr. High boys basketball team. He was head coach of the JV boys basketball team in 2009 and has assisted Jr. High/Varsity girls basketball and Varsity boys basketball and baseball at MCA. In addition to coaching, Ben is graduating with his teaching degree from UT in the spring of 2012. He serves in the music, FOCUS, and teen ministries at MRBC.

Cortney Filler is in her first season as a coach at MCA this year, coaching Varsity boys soccer in the fall and Jr. High/Varsity track in the spring. She is a 2005 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute. Cortney has played soccer for over 18 years, both in high school and college. In addition to coaching, Cortney works for JDM Custom Impressions, Inc. She attends Monclova Road Baptist Church with her husband, Joshua, and is a huge fan of the University of Michigan!

Josh Filler is in his first season as a coach at MCA this year, coaching JV boys basketball in the winter and Jr. High/Varsity track in the spring. Josh is a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute and of Cedarville University. He played basketball in high school and college. In addition to coaching, Josh is a teacher at MCA. He attends Monclova Road Baptist Church with his wife, Cortney, and he enjoys assisting Word of Life missionaries with local events. Josh also loves to golf in his spare time.

Jr. High Girls Basketball Coach

Hannah Keiser is a 2006 graduate of MCA and a 2009 graduate of Thomas Edison State College. She has five years of basketball coaching experience. She has assisted the varsity girls team and is now in her fourth year as head coach of the Jr. High girls. In addition to coaching, Hannah is the graphic designer at MRBC, an academic coach for CollegePlus!, and a private music teacher. She serves in the music, FOCUS, and teen ministries at MRBC.

Jr. High Boys Soccer Coach

Craig Martin is a graduate of Anthony Wayne High School and Bowling Green State University. He has three years of coaching experience with JV and Varsity soccer teams. This year was his first season coaching the Jr. High boys at MCA. In addition to coaching, Craig works for Real Estate Appraisal Services and Pisanello’s Pizza. He attends Monclova Road Baptist Church with his wife, Valerie, and four children, and serves in the AWANA, Nursery, and Men’s ministries.

Jr. High Girls Volleyball Coach

Stephanie Russell is a 2007 graduate of MCA and was in her first season as head coach of the Jr. High girls volleyball team this year. During her MCA career, Stephanie played varsity volleyball and basketball for the Thunder. Outside of coaching, Stephanie is working as a waitress, is studying at college, and is involved in her church.

Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

Oscar Velazquez is in his ninth season of coaching basketball at MCA. During his time at the school, he has coached Jr. High and JV boys, and assisted the Varsity boys. Oscar is a graduate of Hyles Anderson College and an assistant pastor at  MRBC. He heads up the Reformers Unanimous, nursing home, and Young at Heart ministries. He also serves in the jail ministry and teaches Sunday school.

JV/Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Chad Walters is a 2001 graduate of the University of Toledo and is in his first year coaching the  Varsity boys at MCA. He coached the JV boys at MCA last season, assisted the Varsity boys team at Central Catholic during the 1996-1997 season, and also coached freshman basketball at Bowsher High School. Chad works for  WLMB TV 40 Christian Television and is a self-employed landscape care provider. He attends Monclova Road Baptist Church with his family.

Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach

Anita Williams has eight years of coaching experience, with Jr. High and JV/Varsity volleyball and JV softball. She is a graduate of Springfield High School, where she played Varsity volleyball and softball. She is also a graduate of the University of Toledo School of Nursing. Anita also coaches the Varsity softball team at Swanton high school. In addition to coaching,  she is a homeschool mom of seven kids.

Andy Berkhoudt is a graduate of Whitmer High School and Davis College. He has four years of coaching experience with Jr. High girls tennis at Whitmer. This will be his first year as assistant coach for the Varsity boys basketball team at MCA. Andy has a graphic design background and currently works as a real estate investor. He leads the missions ministry at Grace Church and also is a mentor for at-risk teens with the Mountain Mentors organization.

Craig Hester is a graduate of Emmanuel Christian School  and is currently earning his degree from Bob Jones University and Owens Community College. He has nine years of coaching experience with different sports, including Jr. High/Varsity soccer, Varsity baseball, and Jr. High basketball. Craig has coached for Liberty Center, as well as MCA. He currently serves as a trustee at Bethany Baptist Church.

Ben Keiser is a 2011 graduate of MCA and played 6 years of basketball and 2 years of soccer and baseball for the Thunder. This will be his first season as assistant coach to the Jr. High boys basketball team. In addition to coaching, Ben is currently earning his online BSBA degree in General Management from Thomas Edison State College. He attends Monclova Road Baptist Church and is involved in the FOCUS and music ministries.

Heidi Ross is a graduate of Eastwood High School and Tennessee Temple University. She has two years of basketball coaching experience, assisting the Jr. High girls in 2006-2007 and the Varsity girls in 2007-2008. In addition to coaching, Heidi is the second grade teacher at MCA. She attends Monclova Road Baptist Church, where she is involved in the AWANA, TAG, and adult choir ministries. She enjoys taking pictures and spending time with her nephew, Collin.

Assistant Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach

Mark Williams is a graduate of Eastwood High School and the University of Toledo. He has six years of coaching experience, coaching and assisting JV/Varsity volleyball and fast pitch softball, Varsity boys basketball, and youth soccer. This is his fifth year assisting the MCA volleyball program. In addition to coaching, Mark works as a mechanical engineer for Dana Corporation. He enjoys woodworking, auto racing, and time spent with his wife, Anita, and seven kids.
